Work History

2006- 2009 

RossTax Ltd, London N12 9RY Chartered Tax Advisory Office                        Bookkeeper + Director's Assistant

                                As a part time employee I was responsible for bookkeeping, VAT Registrations, VAT Returns, and drafting of statutory accounts for Companies House for various companies. The Corporation Tax was done by someone else. An IT network was at use, Bookkeeping was done with Quickbooks Accountant 2005, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.) is in frequent use.


2004- 2006  

Metallbau Partner AG, LuzernExterior Cladding Engineering & Software                                                      Bookkeeper

                                My duities included besides all bookkeeping + payroll work, setting up a new accounting software (Proffix) for the companies books, paying all purchase invoices directly from within the accounts software uploading the payment data via internet banking, receiving all customer payments downloading the data from the Bank directly via internet banking into the accounting software. All credit control correspondence, and peparing the end year accounts for the audit. I worked flexible hours, between 10 to 20 hours per week.

                                As a part-time employee, I was given the opportunity to do the accounts of 4 internationally active companies, one with a quarterly group reporting. Compiling VAT Returns for Switzerland and Germany as well as year end accounts and corporate tax estimates.

                                Although a part-time role, responsibilities covered allround work within the sales office like issuing invoices for sold items by the salesmen team, payment of purchase invoices, monthly closing of the sales ledger and incoming payment control, payroll, maintaining the sales statistics, and doing the bookkeeping. I stopped working with this company, because it closed down its business by the end of 2004.


2001- 2003

                                In these years I was longer periods unemployed, and so I started to offer my services to more than just one company as part-time employee. Besides that, I was able to take benefit from educational programmes (at the Work and Education Center, Luzern / Switzerland) offered by the national unemployment insurance.

                                Bookkeeping, VAT Returns for Switzerland and Germany, drawing up the mid year and year end accounts covered my responsibilty. I left this company, because a lot of business was done with Italian companies and it became essential that the accountant can communicate in this language, which I cannot.

                                This company offers services to multinational companies seeking to establish offices in Switzerland. The main clientele were Banks and Telecom Enterprises. I assisted the company's Director and the Project Manager  in controlling and reporting to the clients the projects expenses and payments made to the contractors for refurbishments of the interior of the premises. Filing, various correspondence in English, German and French, translation of local lease contracts into English rounded up my duties. I started to work in this company thru Manpower and was later hired directly by the company, but always as temporary assignment. But finally stopped working with this company, because I changed my permanent address to a city far away from Zurich.

 

                                                                                          1981- 1999

                                Most of my working life in these years I spent as a temp. Yes, surely I was a professional temporary administration employee, and was assigned to small and medium size companies, but also placed for longer assignments in large multinational enterprises like Dupont de Nemours, Silicon Graphics, Dow Chemicals, Credit Suisse, KPMG Fides Peat, Zurich Insurance and others.

 

Basic Vocational Education


1977-1980        

Bank Clerk Apprenticeship at Union Bank of Switzerland (today UBS AG), Zurich - Switzerland. Graduating with good success from the 3 years theoretical and practical training taken in the bank's own Educational Institute.

1980-1981 Language studies at the City College of San Jose in California, USA, and at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. (TOEFEL TEST).

1983 Language studies in Paris, France at the "Alliance Francaise" and "Sorbonne University".

1995 - 90 hours of intense study of written French, attending the permanent Atelier
